    • Found this blog and wanted to share with all of the wonderful stitchers here: http://quilts4olderchildrenandadults.blogspot.com/ It sounds like a great group that not only helps people age 18+ who are sick receive quilts but also helps other groups with quilt squares plus helps no-kill animal shelters. There is a link to join the Yahoo group. It sounds like alot of people, groups and animals benefit - a winning combination.

    • I've lost the color chart to the cross stitch kit 'Ships in the Harbor' by Eva Rosenstand/Clara Waver. It's the one with a huge clipper ship and a bunch of smaller ships with people in it seeing it out of the harbor. Does anybody have any idea how I can get just the instructions/color key? I did try contacting the company through the only email address I could find but so far haven't heard back from them so I'm more than a little frustrated since this was a very expensive kit. SIGH. Wish I'd gotten started on it right away now but after my son's death and then my dad's battle with cancer everything got put on the back burner. And of course we've moved now as well so any hope of digging around and finding it are nill to none. Anybody have any suggestions or happen to have gotten the same kit and still have the instructions/color key?

    • I recently purchased the pattern for the fire dept. maltese cross to work up for my son. My question is has anyone ever done this or any cross stitch patterns in beads? I am a beader & I plan to do this in delicas. I would have loved to have found this in brick stitch but have had no luck, but am very excited to do this in square/off loom stitch. Just wondering if any one else has attempted this in beadwork?? Thank you for reading.

    • Hi everyone, I'm a guy in his 30s with literal 99.9% short-term memory loss. I forget things that I hear less than 3 seconds after hearing them, and I forget virtually all of the details of things I see a few seconds after seeing them. But, I do have a tiny bit of memory left, and I make do with what I have. A hobby I picked up after losing my memory is cross stitching. I frequently lost track of what I was doing while stitching, so I developed a strategy to remedy that. I ended up utilizing that strategy to create a computer program called Cross Stitch Helper. It can be used to make patterns, and it can be used to keep track of your stitching progress so that stitches won't be forgotten or repeated or placed in the wrong place. And, it is freeware. It doesn't cost a dime to use, and it doesn't show annoying advertisements either. I'm fairly certain that I'm not the only person who would enjoy using this software, so I'm trying to spread the word about it. More details can be found at the Cross Stitch Helper website: http://www.helpstitch.com/ I hope this software is able to bring happiness to persons other than myself!
